RHS partners with Crane Garden Buildings for major new collection

The Royal Horticultural Society has sealed a partnership with Crane Garden Buildings to create a unique range of leisure buildings, offices, outbuildings and garages.

The RHS Garden Building Collection by Crane Garden Buildings will include insulated and uninsulated, modular, contemporary garden buildings, with apex or pent roof structures, all made with FSC-certified, PEFC or TR-compliant woods.

The development process is now underway. The first functional prototypes are planned for autumn 2024, with the first building in the range – a studio – coming to market in March 2025 when demand for garden buildings is high.

Further launches will follow, including another two studios and a garage in a barn-styled design. The launch of the entire range will be completed by spring 2026. All the buildings will highlight RHS branding on a nameplate or badge.

The range will initially be offered through Crane’s established distribution channels. The company operates its own national network of 14 show centres; four more are planned by 2026. The range will also be sold via the company’s website.

Following the initial launch, Crane will promote the range to its garden centre and department store partners with a focus on physical retail.

“As a proudly Norfolk-based, family-run business, and a well-regarded producer of high-quality-timber garden buildings, we are thrilled to be working with the UK’s favourite gardening charity and gaining inspiration from its wonderful visitor centres in many of the country’s great gardens,” commented Peter Mortin from Crane Garden Buildings. “We’re sure this partnership will surprise and delight customers and retail partners alike.”

Cathy Snow, RHS licensing manager, continued: “Experience, expertise and reputation are important when choosing a partner in the garden buildings business, and Crane has high ratings in all three. Its range of designs, high building standards and outstanding customer service are equally impressive. We are delighted to be working with Crane on this distinctive and highly desirable garden building collection.”
