Primark has expanded its partnership with Paramount to celebrate 25 years of SpongeBob SquarePants.
Fans of the cartoon can shop from ranges featuring their favourite characters – SpongeBob, Patrick and Squidward – with options for all the family to get involved with the first ever summer matching pyjamas.
Other products on sale include nightwear, sweatshirts, shorts and character socks.
In addition, the SpongeBob Cafe has opened its doors (above sea level) in Manchester Trafford Centre, Birmingham and Braehead. The character is the latest to takeover selected Primark cafes, popping up in store from June to August setting the scene for the summer season.
In the latest partnership, shoppers will get a chance to sample the famous Mr Krab’s Secret Sandwich, alongside other menu highlights inspired by the show including a Pineapple Under the Sea Bubble Tea, Kelp Crunch Waffle and Chum Wings, straight from Plankton’s The Chum Bucket.
“Our partnership with Paramount continues to go from strength to strength,” commented Sarah Jackson, director of licence at Primark. “We know that our customers love our product collections from Paw Patrol to our iconic TMNT X Pizza Hut collaboration, so we’re thrilled to celebrate 25 years of this much-loved character with a new line of pyjamas for all the family.”
Tim Kelly, director of new business development at Primark, continued: “We’ve seen an amazing response from customers to our revolving cafe themes so far, so we’re delighted to reveal the next chapter with SpongeBob and Patrick in the limelight. At Primark, we’re always looking at ways to bring unrivalled in-store experiences to our customers and give them more reasons to visit their local store. We hope our customers in Manchester Trafford Centre, Birmingham and Braehead love our latest offering, and keep an eye out for the next revolving theme later this year.”
Characters including SpongeBob, Patrick and Plankton will also visit stores in June and July.
