McLaren Racing has extended its partnership with gaming technology specialist Logitech G, as the Official Gaming Wheels and Pedals Partner of the McLaren Formula 1 Team and McLaren Shadow Esports Team.
The extension of the partnership – which began in 2017 – will see the two brands continue to blur the lines between virtual and real-world racing and create a more accessible racing experience. Logitech supported McLaren Shadow during the Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championship victories in the 2022 F1 Esports Series.
As part of the extension, the Logitech McLaren G Challenge will be back at the end of this year for another exciting sim racing season. The Logitech McLaren G Challenge will see individuals continue to compete for unique and money can’t buy prizes – including driver meet-and-greets and other exclusive experiences.
“Sim racing continues to go from strength to strength, so we’re thrilled to be extending our partnership with Logitech and continue to create a strong experience both for our McLaren Shadow Team and the more than 100,000 competitors who have taken part in the Logitech McLaren G Challenge to date,” commented Matt Dennington, co-chief commercial officer at McLaren Racing.
Robin Piispanen, global head of simulation and console at Logitech G, added: “For years, McLaren has been a key partner in the success of the G Challenge, helping to elevate prizing by supporting our grand prize race experience and sharing the event with millions of racing fans around the world. This collaboration underscores sim racing as a gateway to the sport and helps Logitech G achieve its goal of bringing heart-pounding, competitive simulation experiences to more homes than ever before.”
