Retailers unleash Star Wars Day promos

The Entertainer, Poundland, intu, Forbidden Planet among those celebrating May 4.

A host of retailers have launched special promotions today (May 4) in celebration of Star Wars Day.

Names as varied as The Entertainer, Poundland and Forbidden Planet have all been sharing special discounts and competitions across social media to mark the occasion.

Toy chain The Entertainer has 50% off selected Star Wars toys, while Poundland is heavily pushing a plethora of branded product – from kitchen roll, shower gel and duvet covers through to stickers, expandable flannels and finger boards.

Meanwhile, intu has teamed with The LEGO Group for a series of competitions which will be running throughout the day on its Facebook page. A number of prizes are up for grabs including a Millennium Falcon.

TruffleShuffle is offering 20% off all of its Star Wars merchandise for today only, while Forbidden Planet has a host of offers in its special Star Wars Day sale. These include an interactive Darth Vader figure down to £59.99 from £129.99.

Fashion retailer Primark has also been promoting its range of Star Wars products on its social media feeds.

The Toy Store also held a special Stormtrooper competition yesterday and will be hosting giveaways in its Oxford Street outlet today.
