A successful Southern Quiz last night (Thursday 23 November) rounded out another strong 12 months of fundraising by the licensing industry, with The Light Fund set to donate £140,000 to charities this year as a result.
Almost 200 industry executives from companies including Abysse, Acamar, Bioworld, Beano, Blues Group, Brands In, Bulldog Licensing, Clarity Management, Copyrights, Dependable Rights, Exquisite Gaming, Fashion UK, FOCO, Funko, Good Play Guide, Hasbro, Imagin8, Informa Markets, LEGO, Licensing Link Europe, Max Publishing, Misirli, Mojo Nation, Moonbug, NBC Universal, Rainbow Designs, Rainbow Productions, Retail Monster, Roald Dahl, Rockpool Licensing, Roy Lowe, Smiffys, TDP, TEG, Two Daughters Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery headed to Lords Cricket Ground for the popular Southern Quiz Night.
As well as the quizzing fun, there was also a bumper raffle – with generously donated prizes including a Nintendo Switch – which raised some £1,800 alone.
In a tight battle for the trophy, Max Bulldoggystyle (Bulldog Licensing, Licensing Link Europe and Max Publishing) emerged the victors with a score of 93 points, closely followed by Fiesty FOCOs (FOCO) on 91 points and Do You BLEieve in Life After Love? (Informa) on 88 points.
At the other end of the table, three teams were battling for the ‘Big Pants of Doom’ – Bingle Bells (Acamar), Moonbuggers (Moonbug) and Blues Need Clues (Blues Group) with the latter’s score of 53 points meaning they took home this year’s rather festive looking big pants (pictured above).
The full standings can be seen below, with The Light Fund due to confirm the 2023 charity beneficiaries in December.
