Fierylight has marked its 15 year relationship with Hasbro and Peppa Pig with the launch of the seventh live show featuring the brand since the launch of the format in 2009.
Over the past 14 years, the Peppa Pig live show has played to an audience of over two million in the UK alone and has grossed over £30 million at the box office.
The latest show – Peppa Pig’s Fun Day Out – launched on 25 October at the Oxford Playhouse theatre ahead of the brand’s 20th anniversary in 2024. It will run until 3 November 2024.
In London, 2023 will mark Peppa’s 12th year as a West End Christmas show where it will once again play at The Haymarket Theatre from 30 November.
“One of the key objectives of the live show is to make the whole experience interactive and accessible for preschoolers by putting the audience at the heart of the action,” commented Martin Ronan, executive producer of Fierylight. “The show incorporates specially commissioned music and songs that allow the audience to connect with the brand in an interactive way. It’s also about community in that it’s a shared experience rather than the relatively solitary experience of watching on TV/tablet.”
The brand messages of family and friendship are also a key part of the live show’s success, while the Peppa Pig stage show is performed live rather than to a pre-recorded track which gives it a theatrical feel and is a genuine first introduction to theatre for most of the audience.
The seventh live tour also boasts a wide geographic spread, touring from Aberdeen to Exeter and Dublin to Ipswich and pretty much everywhere in between.
Martin continued: “It’s hard to think of another preschool property that is approaching it’s 15th year as a live show and certainly one that has had seven different shows in that period.”
