Caroline Petit, deputy director of the United Nations’ Regional Information Centre, will deliver the opening keynote on Wednesday 8 November at the Royal Geographical Society; POC launches industry-first Members SDGs Awards.
There is now just a week remaining until the Sustainability in Licensing Conference 2023, with the event due to be opened with a keynote address from the United Nations.
Taking place on Wednesday 8 November, Caroline Petit, deputy director of the United Nations’ Regional Information Centre will open SiLC23 with a keynote on the 17 SDGs.
This will act as the kick off for a day of sustainable education and action at the Royal Geographical Society in London.
Caroline will help set the tone and agenda for the day by engaging the global brand licensing and retail industries with the topic of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the many roles that business can play in the transition to a prosperous and sustainable future.
Her talk will kick off a jam-packed agenda of panel sessions and speakers – which can be viewed in full by clicking here – curated to tackle some of the biggest and most important conversations taking place in business at the moment, including the swathes of legislative changes heading our way and the tools and systems we can start using now to create the licensing industry of tomorrow, today.
In addition, Products of Change will be launching the industry-first Members SDGs Awards during the conference, with Caroline doing the presenting honours.
Each of the Products of Change Members SDGs awards will act to recognise the ground-breaking work being carried out to drive sustainable development forwards within the brand and licensing industry, while aligning that work with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals framework.
The Awards categories will recognise efforts made towards SDG 9, Industry Innovation and Infrastructurew Award; SDG 12, Responsible Consumption and Production; SDG 13 Climate Action; and SDG 17, Partnership for the Goals Award.
Helena Mansell-Stopher, ceo and founder of Products of Change, said: “It’s a real honour to be able to celebrate those in the industry who are truly driving real innovation through our first Products of Change SDG awards. To have Caroline from the United Nations here to be able to present the awards is a real pinch-me moment, and a milestone for POC.”
