In a blend of crafts, competitions and gaming, TheSoul Publishing’s 5-Minute Crafts has collaborated with Rovio’s Angry Birds, merging the worlds of DIY and gaming for a unique fan engagement event.
Rovio Entertainment has integrated 5-Minute Crafts branded levels within Angry Birds Friends for a week-long special in-game event (which ran from 25 September to 2 October).
Fans got the chance to dive into 5-Minute Crafts DIY charm within the game levels, encountering in-game prompts which guided them to watch inspiring videos on YouTube.
In addition, the #AngryCraftsChallenge encouraged fans to create real life Angry Birds levels using household items. The best entries will win prizes including plushies and in-game goodies. The winners will be revealed on 4 October.
“This collaboration combines physical creativity with gaming in the most exhilarating way,” commented Patrik Wilkens, vp of operations at TheSoul Publishing. “We’re crafting a bridge between the tactile joys of DIY and the dynamic world of Angry Birds. We eagerly anticipate the wave of creativity our global audience will bring.”
Adrián Navarro Pérez, lead level designer at Angry Birds Friends, added: “In uniting with 5-Minute Crafts, we’re celebrating innovation and creativity. We are thrilled to see how fans will interact with the beloved Angry Birds universe in such a tangible, immersive, and imaginative way.”
