UK’s number one cookbook, Pinch of Nom appoints Eighty Ate

Eighty Ate – the sister company of The Point.1888 – has been appointed as the agent for the UK’s number one cookbook Pinch of Nom, to launch and manage its licensing programme.

PON started out as a simple idea in 2016 – good food that helps you feel good, too. The blog quickly garnered a highly engaged following and the first book became the fastest selling recipe book of all time.

Seven years later, and the recipe books continue to dominate top selling spots and the blog is one of the most visited in the UK.

In advance of the roll out of the licensing programme, the Eighty Ate team has worked closely with PON to identify opportunities most aligned with the brand and its passionate and highly engaged audience. Based on their findings, Eighty Ate will support PON following this strategy to further establish the brand at retail beyond its publishing origin.

The licensing strategy developed by the PON and Eighty Ate teams identified that the programme must speak to the core values of the brand, including saving money and giving time back to their community.

The Point.1888 licensing programme will focus on food and drink and hard goods categories.

“As we approach publication date for our seventh book, Pinch of Nom Express, we feel the time is right to deliver a marketing-leading consumer products roll-out that acts as an extension of our existing publishing programme,” commented co-founder of Pinch of Nom, Kay Allinson. “The Eighty Ate team has shown an incredible understanding of our values and brand and we are thrilled to be working with the talented team there to make our PON community’s requests a reality.”

Janine Richmond, head of product and brand at Eighty Ate, continued: “The PON brand is an absolute phenomenon, and we are so honoured and excited to be working with Kay, Kate and the team. The success to date has been built on clear purpose and consistently listening to its community and, as we develop an authentic consumer products programme for PON, this will remain at the very heart of every development decision. We aim to retain PON’s dialogue with its fans and offer products that continue to make cooking at home as easy and tasty as possible – one pinch at a time.”
