The Sindy brand is marking 60 years with a raft of celebrations that will put the British doll firmly in the spotlight.
Beginning from this month (September), and continuing throughout the coming year, Sindy fans worldwide can look forward to a range of campaigns which will honour six decades of ‘fashion and play’.
A special limited edition 60th anniversary collector’s doll will be the centrepiece of the celebration, with each of the dolls individually numbered and accompanied by a confirmation card.
There will also be two new fan websites. The first – www.sindy.com – is tailored for younger fans and offers an up to date take on the iconic doll. The second – www.vintagesindy.co.uk – delves into Sindy’s rich heritage and early beginnings, serving up a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
Sindy’s social media presence is getting a significant boost, aligning with the content on the websites. Fans can expect a dynamic flow of stories, and interactive content. Managed by Pedigree Toys & Brands’ licensing agency, Stories.1888, the content will span Sindy’s journey from her historical roots to today’s popularity.
A highlight of the celebration will be a museum exhibition scheduled for spring 2024, with further details due to be unveiled shortly.
In addition, Sindy will be launching into baby and toddler with Little Sindy & Paul, featuring a new illustrative look and design.
“This is a special milestone for our girl Sindy and we’re excited for a year of celebrations to begin,” commented Matthew Reynolds, md at Pedigree Toys and Brands. “Not many brands have the history and following that Sindy has enjoyed for six decades. She is known globally and a true British icon. She has fans of all ages as she’s cherished by multiple generations, so our celebrations plan to embrace them all. Sindy deserves her place in the limelight to celebrate her special anniversary.”
