Rob Goodchild joins Two Daughters Entertainment as commercial director

Animation, producer and IP company, Two Daughters Entertainment has confirmed the arrival of former Aardman executive, Rob Goodchild, as its new commercial director.

Rob (pictured) will be responsible for Two Daughters Entertainment’s brands worldwide, leading its licensing and merchandising programme and working with businesses around the world to create market leading content, experiences and products.

He brings over three decades of experience across global entertainment and consumer products industries to the role. This includes a 15-year tenure at Aardman Animations, where he oversaw licensing, merchandise and business development, working across iconic properties such as Shaun The Sheep and Wallace and Gromit.

At Two Daughters, Rob will be charged with maximising the market potential for the production company’s animated adventure series Moley globally, as well as the upcoming titles in its film slate.

Moley, which is due to debut on UK free TV via POP in early October, alongside a strong existing UK audience on Boomerang, boasts a cast that includes Stanley Tucci, Warwick Davis and Julie Walters. It is available in over 160 countries and 30 languages and was sold worldwide by Jetpack Distribution. Two Daughters Entertainment is also developing three new properties which will begin to roll out later this year.

“I’m delighted to be joining the team at Two Daughters Entertainment to help deliver their vision by supercharging their brands’ commercial potential on a global scale,” commented Rob Goodchild, commercial director at Two Daughters Entertainment. “Moley is a very attractive property and, together with the upcoming film slate, it’s an exciting opportunity to be involved with.”

James Reatchlous, founder and ceo at Two Daughters Entertainment, continued: “We are thrilled to welcome Rob to the Two Daughters team – firstly because it speaks volumes about our growing ability to attract world-class talent to the company, and secondly because securing Rob’s extraordinary expertise will help us realise the full brand potential of Moley, alongside our growing film slate, delivering a market-leading licensing and merchandise programme.”
