London Marathon success for industry execs

Turner’s Graham Saltmarsh and Global’s Colette Smyth triumph over 26.2 miles.

Cartoon Network’s Graham Saltmarsh and Global Licensing’s Colette Smyth are feeling victorious today – if more than a little sore – after completing the London Marathon yesterday in aid of The Light Fund.

Both Graham and Colette were running for The Children’s Trust – one of the charities supported by The Light Fund.

Colette told The Source: “After my first marathon last year, I was diagnosed and successfully treated for cancer. Massive thanks to my amazing family, friends and industry colleagues for their huge support.

“It was a blast running for The Light Fund and The Children’s Trust – the London Marathon and support is overwhelming and very amusing.

“Graham Saltmarsh is a legend! I have a stylish wedding in Italy at the weekend and it’s safe to say I won’t be wearing open-toed sandals…”

Meanwhile, Graham Saltmarsh – who had battled with injury before the race, having tripped over a manhole cover during one of his training runs – said: “I have blisters on my blisters, and was gutted to be overtaken by a herd of rhino at mile three.

“I was also overtaken by a can of London Pride, several apples and a Womble, but it is an amazing experience.

“Running the marathon reminds me of when I was in Kenya and ate bull’s testicles… interesting culturally, but certainly not something I want to repeat.”
