No fixes needed as licensing programme for The Repair Shop grows

The Repair Shop is celebrating a host of new licensees, product launches and retail successes this month, thanks to licensing agency The Point.1888.

The developments come hot on the heels of The Repair Shop’s recognition by  BAFTA for Best Daytime Series and a RTS nomination for The Repair Shop: A Royal Visit.

The popular BBC primetime series – which follows experts from various disciplines as they restore family heirlooms and treasured antiques to their former glory – is currently filming a new series with new experts across multiple disciplines joining its 20 strong team.

StingInTheTailThanks to an ongoing partnership with licensee Sting in the Tail, a range of 28 skus across health and beauty, stationery and gifting will be available for The Repair Shop fans to buy. These include Hand Repair Wax for hard working hands, and Bath Soak, for relaxing after a hard day’s work. The range is available at independent stores and garden centres across the UK.

The Point.1888 has also secured board game developer, Rachel Lowe, with a new board game and puzzle due to launch later this year.

Cardology has also been selected to create a range of The Repair Shop greeting cards.

Seeking to make the most of the appeal the show has had with both adults and children alike, The Repair Shop brought The Point.1888 on board to develop new products in kids’ toys, make it yourself, homewares, repair and DIY kits. An important goal in the brand licensing strategy – for both The Repair Shop and The Point.1888 – is that every new product has a purpose, adding value to the user’s life in some way.

“We are thrilled with the amazing licensees we have secured so far and I personally love the mix of products that we are developing,” commented Carrie Sharland, senior product development manager at The Point.1888. “We’re so proud to work with a brand that brings so much joy to the nation and we look forward to working with our new partners on extending the reach of The Repair Shop even further.”

David Falkner, director at Cardology, continued: “As a card publisher, just occasionally a stand out property comes along that speaks directly to intergenerational connection. The Repair Shop adds further themes of consistency and belonging during times of change, and the application of time, love and thought, both of which we know our customers respond strongly to when selecting Cardology products. It’s for these reasons we’re hugely excited about the range of Repair Shop lines we’re bringing to the market.”
