The B&LLAs: The Property winners

Ted Baker, Sophie Conran, Volkswagon, Coca Cola, V&A all honoured.

The Property categories at the Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards were hotly contested, with some high profile heritage, lifestyle, food and beverage, talent and fashion brands nominated.

First up was Licensed Heritage or Institution Brand 2016 (sponsored by Brand Licensing Europe), with the V&A being crowned. The museum was praised for activities that continued to inspire and setting the bar to new heights.

Lauren Sizeland, head of licensing and business development, said: “I’m just so grateful to the team and our licensees for allowing us to reach such dizzy heights.”

Best Licensed Lifestyle Brand 2016 (sponsored by Brand Licensing Select) was won by Volkswagon, which was praised for ‘really going through the gears’ on its licensing activity and driving forth into many new product areas.

Simon Gresswell, IMG’s vp of European licensing, Gabrielle Sims, licensing director, and licensing manager Lottie Haywood-Cook all accepted the accolade on behalf of VW.

Best Licensed Food or Beverage Brand 2016 (sponsored by Kimm & Miller) saw Coca Cola grace the stage for the second time during the afternoon.

Licensing coordinator, Europe & APAC for Coca Cola, Louise King – who collected the award with Lisa Shapiro, TLC’s UK md – said: “We’re delighted to win a second award this afternoon.”

Best Licensed Talent Brand 2016 (sponsored by Autumn Fair) was won by Sophie Conran. Visibly surprised, Sophie said:”This is really special.”

The final award of the category was Best Licensed Fashion Brand 2016 (sponsored by Hallett Retail). The triumphant Ted Baker team took to the stage, having been praised for bringing new licensees into the market and delivering brand values that chime with the consumer.

Global wholesale director, Ricky Green, said: “Thank you to all our global partners for their hard word and endeavours.”
