Host of UK names line up as Licensing International 2023 Excellence Awards finalists

A raft of UK companies and brands have been named as finalists by Licensing International in the 2023 Excellence Awards.

Nominees range from Peter Rabbit, Royal Mail and The Royal Mint, through to V&A, Floral Street Fragrances and Wow Stuff.

This year’s Excellence Awards feature 201 finalists in 30 categories. More than 850 submissions were reviewed by a panel that includes 200 judges from 20 countries.

The winners will be announced during the Licensing International Excellence Awards ahead of Licensing Expo (13-15 June), in a ceremony taking place on Monday 12 June at HyperX Arena Las Vegas at the Luxor.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the global brand licensing industry’s incredible work,” commented Maura Regan, president of Licensing International. “By expanding the categories and adding new awards, we can better reflect our constantly evolving business. Congratulations to this year’s finalists, and we look forward to celebrating our community at this year’s ceremony.”

The Peter Rabbit brand has been nominated in the Best Experiential or Location-Based Initiative category for the Peter Rabbit Garden Adventure at Blenheim Palace (by Histrionic Productions), while The World of Peter Rabbit is also named in the Best Brand: Publishing, Stationery, Social Expression category.

Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience from Ravenswood Experiences is also in the running for Best Experiential or Location Based Initiative.

The V&A has been named in the Best Brand: Art, Design, Museum category, while Floral Street Fragrances’ Sunflower Pop (Van Gogh Museum/Licensing Link Europe) is among the nominees for Best Sustainability Initiative.

The Royal Mail‘s work with Iron Maiden has earned it a place in Best Product: Publishing, Social Expression, Back to School, while The Royal Mint‘s Harry Potter collection is named in Best Product: Home Décor.

Wow Stuff will be hoping its Jurassic World range can sway the judges in Best Product: Toys, Games, Novelties, Role Play (8+), while Character.com is nominated in Best Product: Apparel, Footwear & Accessories for Ent Brands for its Thomas & Friends range.

Iceland‘s work with Hershey and MDR Brand Management is also recognised in Best Product Food: or Beverage for Corp Brands.

Licensing International members can vote for the winners beginning on Monday 24 April. Each member company will receive one ballot to vote for each category and voting will end on Saturday 6 May.
