The B&LLAs: The Product winners

We take a closer look at the eight big winners in the Product category.

The winners of the eight product categories at the Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards covered a variety of big names – from Men’s Health through to JCB Trade Tools.

The first award of the afternoon – in the fact the very first B&LLAs accolade – was Best Licensed Brand Fashion Accessories or Lifestyle Product or Range (sponsored by CPLG).

The Coca Cola Sophia Webster Collection was victorious, with the award collected by Coca Cola’s licensing co-ordinator Louise King and UK md of TLC, Lisa Shapiro.

Next up was Best Licensed Brand Health & Beauty Product or Range (sponsored by JCB), which was awarded to Men’s Health Vitamins & Minerals Range from Omega Pharma. Adam Bass, md of Golden Goose, and Emmanuel Veron, Omega Pharma’s global head of category were among those who collected the award.

Historic Royal Palaces Hobbs’ Collection No. 5 from Hobbs won the Best Licensed Brand Adult Apparel Product or Range (sponsored by TLC – Global Brands Group). Hobbs’ Ashley Lister and Katya Maschenko took to the stage with the Historic Royal Palaces team to collect the award.

Best Licensed Brand Gifting Product or Range (sponsored by Brands With Influence) was awarded to Guinness Giftware Collection from Newbridge Silverware.

Newbridge designer Aoife Harrington – who accepted the award and was modelling some of the jewellery pieces – said: “When we have been talking to buyers about the range, they are really getting it, so we are really excited and pleased.”

Best Licensed Brand Food or Beverage Product or Range (sponsored by TLP) was won by Magnum Chocolates from Kinnerton Confectionery. Kinnerton’s marketing director, Rachel Wyatt and brand manager Emma Perrett, collected the award along with Unilever’s global licensing director, Julie McCleave.

Best Licensed Brand Home or Garden Product or Range (sponsored by Pringles) was picked up by Ted Baker The Fine Collection – Rosie Lee from Portmeirion Group.

Phil Atherton, group sales and marketing director of Portmeirion Group – who collected the award – said: “This has been a very successful collaboration and there is more to come from us. We are delighted to win this award.”

Cherokee Apparel from Argos scooped the Best Licensed Brand Children’s Product or Range (sponsored by Start Licensing).

Henry Stupp, eco of Cherokee Global Brands, accepted the award with the team from Argos, and told The Source: “This is all about the people – the people at Cherokee and the people at Argos. We are blown away.”

The final award of the Product category was Best Licensed Brand Consumer Electronics or Electricals Product or Range (sponsored by Golden Goose).

JCB Trade Tools from The Kingfisher Group was victorious, with John Atkinson, JCB’s md, collecting the award. He said: “This is excellent – JCB is a long established brand and it’s great to be recognised.”
