Inspired by the National Trust’s ’50 things to do before you’re 11 3⁄4’ activities and the collection of gardens and parks in its care, sustainable children’s clothing and accessory brand Frugi has teamed up with Europe’s largest conservation charity to create a fourth capsule collection for spring/summer 2022.
The Garden Growers unisex collection for babies, toddlers and children up to the age of eight aims to encourage little ones to put on their wellies, grab their tools and get their hands dirty by learning how to plant and care for a variety of vegetables, flowers and the creatures that live among them, such as ladybirds and bees.
Frugi’s design team have brought the nation’s gardens to life with a busy print of sunflowers, daisies, carrots, strawberries and apples, as well as watering cans, spades, trowels and flowerpots.
Items include a pair of reversible shorts, two applique t-shirts, a Snuggle Fleece, the bestselling waterprood Rain or Shine Jacket and the all-in-one Rain or Shine suit with Puddle Buster Wellies and socks. There is also a roll-up picnic blanket and a variety of accessories made from recycled materials.
“Each collection we have launched with Frugi has shone a powerful light on the varied habitats and wildlife that we care for, and I am sure this collection will achieve the same,” commented Becky Stanford, brand licensing manager at National Trust. “To inspire children to get out and discover the wonders they can find on their own doorstep is the first step in creating passionate conservationists for the future and I’m proud we can be a part of that.”
Lara Smrtnik, head of marketing at Frugi, added: “We are excited to be launching yet another sustainable collection with the National Trust that will encourage littles ones to get out and learn about the plants and wildlife around them, whether it be an allotment, garden or flower box.
“This ongoing collaboration is a perfect fit of our mutual eco-friendly values to encourage the next generation to help look after our planet for many years to come.”
