‘Home delivery will most likely not be part of Primark’s digital future’

Primark will unveil its new website for the UK market at the end of this month, but home delivery is still not part of its plans.

The new site will provide customers with near real-time information on product availability across its stores, while it could also feature a click and collect option in the future, reported The Industry.Fashion.

The new website features will also roll out across Primark’s 13 other markets by the autumn.

However, while John Bason, finance director at Primark’s parent company, Associated British Foods, told Reuters that the development of a digital channel will generate more sales and profits for the retailer, home delivery will ‘most likely not be a part’ of its digital future as it doesn’t reconcile with its price proposition.

Instead, Primark is looking to continue to expand its physical store portfolio in the Europe and US.
