Why we’re backing the B&LLAs 2017: BLE

‘There have been some incredible success stories over the last 12 months’ says brand director Anna Knight.

A raft of organisations are waking up to the potential of licensing as a brand extension and important revenue stream, Brand Licensing Europe’s Anna Knight has told The Source – with the B&LLAs playing a key part in highlighting the success stories.

Brand Licensing Europe has again pledged its support to the Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards – which return for their second year on Thursday, April 27.

The leading trade show is headline sponsor of the awards, while it is also sponsoring the Best Licensed Heritage Or Institution Brand category.

Brand director Anna explained: “We’re delighted to be supporting the B&LLAs as headline sponsor again this year. BLE is dedicated to celebrating excellence and best practice across all fields of licensing and this is such an important and growing area.

“We saw fantastic examples of innovation last year and I know there have been some incredible success stories over the past 12 months, so can’t wait to see the entries and winners.”

Anna believes it’s important to offer brands and lifestyle properties the opportunity to showcase their innovations.

“It’s an incredibly diverse area of the industry and deserves specific recognition,” she continued. “The Brands & Lifestyle zone at BLE is going from strength to strength. From agencies to FMCG, heritage to fashion & sports, the area truly represents the diversity of the industry.

“This year, sport is an early highlight for us with first time exhibitors Juventus Football Club and Dakar Rally alongside returning exhibitors Paris St Germain, Tour de France, Adidas Real Madrid, AC Milan and Moto GP.”

Anna also hinted at a new addition to the area to help tell the stories behind the brands and licensees.

“Think live stage, catwalk, interesting seminars… watch this space for more info,” she teased.

The B&LLAs has also played an integral part in highlighting the current success stories, Anna believes.

She concluded: “With a lot more brands active and performing well in this space, other organisations are now also waking up to the potential of licensing as a brand extension and important revenue stream.”

The Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards takes place at The Dorchester, Park Lane on Thursday, April 27.

Other partners on board include LIMA, TLC, Beanstalk, CPLG, Start Licensing, Golden Goose, Pink Key Consulting, TLP, Happy Jackson, Octane 5, The Smiley Company, Select Licensing, Brandgenuity, House Beautiful & Country Living Magazine, Autumn Fair and Monty Bojangles.
