The National Gallery adds Wild Bangarang

New licensee to create fashion line featuring masterpieces such as Sunflowers.

The National Gallery has signed up innovative licensee Wild Bangarang, with the company looking to create a fashion line inspired by several of the gallery’s masterpieces.

Wild Bangarang – which is well-known for its leggings and other printed clothing featuring video games brands such as World of Warcraft – will initially be working with Sunflowers and A Wheatfield with Cypresses by Van Gogh, as well as Flowers in a Wan Li Vase by Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder.

Janet Woodward, director of JELC, the licensing agent for The National Gallery, told The Source: “We’re delighted to have such a young and dynamic company joining The National Gallery licensing programme.

“One of our aims is to bring National Gallery products to a younger audience and this licence certainly ticks that box.

“By combining such wonderful masterpieces with new fashion products, we’re helping to make the pictures more accessible, as well as generating revenue to help run the gallery.”
