The B&LLAs 2017: The Property winners

RHS, Smiley Company, Stanley Black & Decker, Britvic and Jamie Oliver Licensing all honoured.

The Property categories at the Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards were hotly contested, with some high profile heritage, lifestyle, food and beverage, talent and fashion brands nominated.

First was Best Licensed Heritage or Institution Brand 2017 (sponsored by Brand Licensing Europe), with the RHS being crowned. The RHS was praised for its blossoming licensing programme over the past year, with it now having over 50 licensees.

Best Licensed Lifestyle Brand 2017 (sponsored by PowerStation Studios) was won by Smiley Company, in recognition of the licensing activity that goes right across the spectrum – from prestigious collaborations with leading designers to product ranges with a host of high street retailers.

Best Licensed Non-Food Brand 2017 (sponsored by LicensingSource.net) was awarded to Stanley Black & Decker. The last year has seen the licensing programme for this respected brand extend deeper and wider from its core to also embrace many new licensees in affiliated areas.

Paul Comben, Stanley licensing manager, said: “We’ve been under the radar, but the programme is really growing and we’re very pleased to win this award.”

Best Licensed Food or Beverage Brand 2017 (sponsored by Corsair Lifestyle) was won by Britvic.

Ian Downes, md of Start Licensing, collected the award on behalf of Britvic. Ian has driven a strong licensing programme for many key Britvic brands, notably J20, Tango, Fruit Shoot in many cases bringing new licensees into the fold.

Ian commented: “I’m so pleased to collect this award on behalf of Britvic. The programme really has been a collaborative effort and I really would like to praise all the licensees who have put all the work in.”

The final award of the category was Best Licensed Fashion or Talent Brand 2017 (sponsored by Autumn Fair & Spring Fair). Jamie Oliver Licensing emerged victorious, with his driving of better food values being praised as it resonates strongly with the consumer and is reflected in an impressive licensing profile.

Kerri Palmer from Jamie Oliver Licensing said: “I’m super excited and really pleased. This is really important. Jamie holds us to such high standards and we try to incorporate Jamie’s philosophy into everything we do.”
