Spider-Man stunt takes over London

Character scales some of capital’s tallest buildings as promo for new Homecoming movie.

Spider-Man has been captured scaling some of London’s tallest buildings as part of an initiative to promote the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming film.

Stuntman Chris Silcox – who is the stunt double for Tom Holland in the movie – donned the famous suit to hang off buildings including the BT Tower and Heron Tower.

Event magazine also reported that he performed acrobatic flips at famous landmarks such as the Millennium Bridge, made an appearance on the tube and perched on top of a phone box to take a break.

“It’s been an honour to work on Spider-Man: Homecoming as Tom’s stunt double,” Chris said. “I’m proud to bring the Spidey Suit into his hometown and showcase a little of what’s to come when the film is released in a few weeks.”

The Marvel stunt is the latest in a line of experiential activity by movie studios. A LEGO Batarang appeared on London’s South Bank earlier this year to promote Warner Bros. Pictures’ LEGO Batman Movie, while various train stations hosted a special Fast & Furious 8 installation ahead of its release.
