New spring/summer collection continues retailer’s strong relationship with brand.
Moomin Characters and Uniqlo are continuing their successful collaboration, with a new spring/summer collection rolling out across its stores globally.
The two companies have worked together since 2013, launching two collections each year.
The new range is already available in territories including the US, Germany, Taiwan and Belgium.
February sees it arrive in China, Hong Kong, Korea, Russia, Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines.
The UK, France and Malaysia will follow, before it reaches Australia in October.
The collaboration was secured by Bulls Licensing.
Gustav Melin, global licensing director, told The Source: “Moomin has a unique position in the licensing world and a fashion driven company such as Uniqlo has been able to repeat this collaboration for almost five years.
“Targeting both children and adults is one of the core issues to the success of Moomins including the Uniqlo collaboration. Combining cultural driven activities – such as art exhibitions – with great retail activities is unique for a heritage brand and important for a retailer like Uniqlo to be able to work long-term.”
Gustav continued: “Of course, Moomin being a global brand – with its strongest markets in Japan, Korean and South East Asia – is essential for global retailer like Uniqlo.
“The new Moomin Theme Park opening in 2019 outside Hannoi City will, of course, increase the interest of the Moomins to a new level.”
