Club wants to trademark phrase to exclusively feature it on future merchandise.
Liverpool FC has made an official application to trademark ‘The Normal One’ under European law.
The move would mean that the club could exclusively use the phrase – coined by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to describe himself when he took over last year – on future merchandise, reported The Telegraph.
The Source reported in October 2015 how a line of merchandise for Jurgen was already on sale, including a t-shirt, mug and mousemat.
Meanwhile, Liverpool has secured a partnership with Skype, marked by the launch of LFC emoticons to give fans a fun way to show their support, including wearing a club scarf with their fingers crossed, thumbs up and covering eyes.
The first set will also include mini versions of Jurgen, as well as captain Jordan Henderson and teammates Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge.
Skype will also launch an official LFC Skype ID, enabling fans to interact with each other in group chats during key games.
