Quirky property to grow in Italian market with appointment of Maurizio Distefano.
An extensive Italian licensing campaign is set to introduce the quirky Hamsta World brand to the territory.
Happy Ink has appointed Maurizio Distefano to manage the brand in Italy as it looks to further growth its international recognition.
Hamsta World stars a family of plucky hamsters, blending an international mood with an Asian flavour.
The property, which was created by Saskia Keiser, a character and brand developer from the Netherlands, began its licensing journey at Brand Licensing Europe last year.
Maurizio Distefano, owner and president of the agency, said: “I immediately realised there was a great commercial potential in the world of Italian licensing because this is a cross-brand that, although not supported by an animated series, has a strong appeal to both genders that involves a very large target and endless categories commodity.”
Saskia Keiser, executive creative director and founder of Hamsta World, added: “We are very excited to join forces with Maurizio and his team, with his extensive experience and passion for licensing, we feel a 100% match.
“As a huge fan of Italy I am sure that da Hamstas will conquer many Italian hearts with their common love for food and ‘joie de vivre’. We are happy to join forces with Maurizio to spread da joy and having fun.”
