Hasbro, Jakks, LEGO, Funko and Mattel among those launching product.
The first wave of consumer products for the eagerly awaited Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will begin to roll out at the end of September.
The new toy line for the movie – which hits cinemas in December – was unveiled via a series of fan-made animated shorts on the Star Wars YouTube channel.
New instalments will be rolled out throughout September, with the stories following the adventures of Rogue One toys from Hasbro, Jakks Pacific, LEGO, Funko, Mattel and Disney Store as they try to track down the building instructions to the LEGO Star Wars Death Star set, which have been misplaced by the Empire.
A handful of items will be available for pre-order at select retailers from September 2, with the full range rolling out globally from September 30.
The shorts are part of a competition in collaboration with creative network Tongal. They are the start of a global contest which asks fans to share their own ‘Rogue Stories’. More details on the competition can be found at www.starwars.com/gorogue.
